Cambree is 4 weeks now! I still love being her mother and I enjoy every second I have with her. She has grown so much she is almost out of her newborn clothes, she has about 1 pound left to go then we will have to switch to the next size up.
We had to take Cambree to a specialist this week because her newborn screening test came back abnormal. She has what is called Biotin Deficiency. This basically means that her body does not take the vitamins out of the food she eats. Because we were able to catch it so early, she won't have any side affects from this illness. So she has to a supplement (vitamin H) twice a day for the first year of her life and then once a week for the rest of her life. . We are okay with that considering the other scenarios that could have occurred. This deficiency occurs on average to 1 in every 60,000 people. After running some numbers this would mean that only 17 people in Salt Lake have what she has, 46 in Utah, 5,116 in the United States, and 111,620 in the world.
We are grateful that this was probably the best case scenario in her situation and for what she has. She has been so awesome and we just love her to death.
