Are you kidding me?

"Jer we should hike Timp. in the middle of the night and get at the top for sunrise!" "Good idea babe, I've been wanting to do that for a while. When do you want to go?" Oh boy, I didn't know how much pain this conversation would cause me in the near future. We started hiking at 4:30 in the morning we had headlamps and camelbacks on. We were prepared with long sleeve shirts, hat's, gloves, 2 sweatshirts, and a jacket. Hiking in the dark is kind of scary all you can hear are animals and all you can see is what's right in front of you and a few other scattered lights on the trail. We got to the Saddle around 8:00 had lunch/breakfast for 45 min. We then hiked to the peak and got to the top around 9:20 where I called my mom because I thought it was cool I had cell phone reception. The trail was really steep and long! I thought I was going to die during this trail, however I fought back the tears I wanted to cry and got through it. I was so sore the next couple of days, but I still somehow managed to do my 4 mile run with Christine 2 day's later. It was fun and Jeremy wants to do it once a year I don't know how he is going to get my butt back on that hike, but props to him if he wants to listen to me whine the whole time.

This is our way back down the hike the leaves were changing colors so the whole hike was really pretty.

This is like 5 min to the end of the hike I seriously was ready to cry my whole body was throbbing.

This is a view into Heber from the very peak.

The peak that you can see in the back is the very top we hiked to, talk about a killer hike!

This is the last part of the trail. Yes it is pretty much a 90 degree angle. If you look close you can see little people climbing up the trail just so you can see how steep this thing was.

This is where we sat and watched the sunrise. I really like this picture, but Jeremy says it's cheesy! I don't care I will post it anyway.

Just another picture to show you how steep it is.

Jeremy and I at the very top! We had to bundle up because it was freezing that high up. Don't' we look so good after hiking 9 miles? I think we do!

Me being myself!
Despite how sore I was I really liked doing this with just Jeremy and I. Jeremy sang songs to me the whole time while I complained and whined. He kept me going through all 37,386 steps.
Well who wants to go next year?

Kudos to you for making it to the top. I got to the saddle and couldn't take it any more! Hiking it at night is fun though, huh?

I've always wanted to make to the top. The only time I hiked it was with you. We made it to the lake and I thought I was awesome then. Now with the bad knee I won't ever make it. So I'll experience it through you. Great job KEL and Great job Jer for listening to her whine. I know how that sounds. Love you both.

Hiking? Hiking??? Isn't that something that requires, you know, like, exercise??? Blech. My hubby hiked the back of Timp with Papa many eons ago, but that was just so we (the girls) could get rid of them. Photos are lovely though. And I have to say to Jo that she is much better than I. This is something I have never wanted to do. Even when I was young and in shape. I guess I prefer just walking a few yards to a beach. (lazy bum that I am.)

Boomer, please don't invite me next year. Marilee-I wanna hang with you on the beach with a mindless book, preservitive filled food, and a tall icy diet coke. Hummmmm. Bliss.
